BNP Paribas REIM has a key role to play in decarbonising the real estate sector. To strengthen the climate resilience of our portfolio, we are stepping up measures to promote sustainable real estate and making new ambitious commitments for 2025 and beyond.
In 2025, we continued our ongoing efforts to move closer to our sustainability targets.
The physical risks of 100% of our assets under management were assessed. Assets identified as being exposed to high climate risks were reviewed in terms of their insurance coverage and potential adaptation measures.
Further progress was made in reviewing the decarbonisation of our properties (2) held by responsible funds (1) using the CRREM tool (3), as well as in adjusting energy and carbon action plans.
In addition, 100% of the products available for distribution have been responsible funds. (1)
(1) Meet the requirements of Article 8 or Article 9 of the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (EU) 2019/2088. The strategy applies to funds for which BNP Paribas REIM has the necessary decision-making authority and operational control (excluding investments where BNP Paribas REIM is not the sole owner and investments by the fund in other funds).
(2) CO₂ emissions resulting from energy consumption during the operation of the property in common and private areas.
(3) For properties within the scope, existing energy intensity and carbon emissions are assessed using the CRREM tool. Developed by European scientists, the Carbon Risk Real Estate Monitor (CRREM) tool measures the energy intensity and carbon emissions of properties against decarbonisation pathways.
