BNP Paribas REIM is part of the BNP Paribas Asset Management Alts division, a global leader in alternative asset management with around 300 billion euros in assets under management.
BNP Paribas REIM has a key role to play in decarbonizing the real estate sector. To strengthen the climate resilience of our portfolio, we are intensifying our actions in favor of more sustainable real estate and making new ambitious commitments for 2025 and beyond.
In 2025, we continued to advance on these new commitments. 100% of assets under management were evaluated for physical climate risk. Assets identified as high risk are reviewed in terms of risk exposure, insurance coverage, as well as adaptation measures.
Further progress was made on modelling the assets of our responsible investment funds (1) with the CRREM tool (2) and adjusting associated energy and carbon action plans. (3)
As of late 2025, 100% of funds open to new investors are responsible investment funds. (1)
By focusing on clear and reachable targets, we can increase the lifespan of our assets under management and generate opportunities for value creation.
1) Responsable investment funds, meaning those classified as Article 8 or 9 by the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR Regulation (EU) 2019/2088). The strategy applies to funds for which BNP Paribas REIM has discretionary decision-making power. Within funds, only direct investments for which REIM has operational control are in scope (this excludes co-owned and operator managed assets); indirect investments (funds of funds) are out of scope.
(2) CO₂ emissions resulting from energy consumption during the operation of the property in common and private areas.
(3) For the properties in scope, the existing energy intensity and carbon emissions are assessed using the CRREM tool. The Carbon Real Risk Real Estate Monitor (CRREM) tool, developed by European scientists, measures the energy intensity and carbon emissions of properties using decarbonization pathways.
